Not if you were the last Dandy on Earth

When the last you saw/heard of a band you once loved was said band collectively crawling up their own asses, the fact that the first track off their new album is titled 'The World The People Together (Come On)' isn't exactly reassuring...
One envisages Richard Ashcroft - who actually has a song called ' Come on people, we're making it now - type pseudo-spiritual, philosophy 101 nonsense about music and uhm people... You know, dude, the world's connected, models are highly fuckable, politics are like such bullshit, I totally dig Ginsberg and we need more, love, man...
Which way is this going, dude?

Well on first listen things aren't looking good. Nope. And it doesn't get much better on a second or third. It seems they've taken the logical next step from the Odditorium or Warlords of Mars, aka further into the deep dark depths of...

Well, you get it.

My suggestion? Stick to/start from the beginning, when the Dandys still ruled, OK?:

The Dandy Warhols - The World The People Together (Come On)
-Earth To The Dandy Warhols - 2008

The Dandy Warhols - You were the last high
-Welcome To The Monkey House - 2003

The Dandy Warhols - Every day should be a holiday
-Come Down - 1997

The Dandy Warhols - The coffee and tea wrecks
-Dandys Rule OK? - 1995

Dandies lost it years ago. But were awesome back then.
